Synthesis and Characteristics of Pentaerythritol Triacrylate

Pentaerythritol triacrylate is a common acrylate monomer and is mainly used in polymer preparation.Pentaerythritol triacrylate is an esterification reaction between pentaerythritol and acrylic acid. Generally, acid is used as a catalyst. The feed ratio and the removal of water are the keys to promote the reaction. In addition, a polymerization inhibitor needs to be added during the reaction.

Pentaerythritol triacrylate is an acrylate obtained by esterifying 1 part of pentaerythritol with three parts of acrylic acid. It has the characteristics of typical acrylates. In addition, there is a side chain hydroxyl group in the molecule. The presence of hydroxyl groups on the one hand enhances the polarity of the molecule and reduces volatility.
