Epoxy soybean oil acrylate coatings become new treasures
Epoxy soybean oil acrylate coating has become the "new nobility" of epoxy soybean oil coating application. According to experts, epoxy soybean oil acrylate is derived from the esterification reaction of acrylic acid and epoxy soybean oil. The essence of the reaction is the addition reaction of carboxylic acid and epoxy group. Due to the long molecular chain of epoxy soybean oil acrylate and low crosslinking density, it can significantly improve the toughness and adhesion of the coating. In addition, epoxy soybean oil is cheap, and epoxy soybean oil acrylate-based photosensitive coatings have broad development prospects.
In recent years, domestic research on epoxy soybean oil for coatings has mainly focused on ultraviolet (UV) free radical curing epoxy soybean oil acrylate system, mainly due to its low price, strong photosensitivity, and good film performance. The synthesis of epoxy soybean oil acrylate generally adopts the following methods: one is to directly esterify epoxy soybean oil with acrylic acid; the other is to use a half-ester modification method, and the former is currently widely used.
